Scholarship Program

|
The Crushers Scholarship program is a fundraising opportunity for local high schools. By selling Crusher ticket vouchers on consignment, schools are able to earn money towards a scholarship for one or more of their students. The Crushers Scholarship programs is a great way to organize a night out at the ballpark for students, faculty, family and friends while at the same time raising money to benefit your schools students.
How it Works
- Local high schools and their students will be provided the opportunity to sell tickets vouchers to a pre-determined Lake Erie Crushers game (Saturday through Thursday).
- The team will award scholarships based on the number of tickets sold.
- The process is easy. Each seller will receive a tracking sheet to collect ticket orders. All orders must be returned to the team by May 1. The Crushers will deliver the ticket vouchers to the school by June 1 for the sellers to deliver.
- All scholarship winners will throw out a first pitch and be recognized in front of the Crushers fans prior to the game.
Scholarship Eligibility
- Student must be a high school senior.
- Senior must have been accepted to a College or University.
- Teachers will select three scholarship finalists based on extracurricular activities, academic achievement and a "team player" attitude.
- The team and the school will then work together to select a scholarship winner which will be announced at the school's predetermined Scholarship Night game.
Scholarship Awards
- Every student that sells 10 or more tickets will receive a free ticket and food voucher (hot dog, Ballreich's chips, soda) to the game.
- Sell 100 tickets: Crushers will award one $250 scholarship. Top seller can throw out the first pitch.
- Sell 200 tickets: Crushers will award one $600 scholarship. Schools top 4 sellers can participate in on-field promotion during the game.
- Sell 300 tickets: Crushers will award one $900 scholarship. Top 5 sellers will receive $10 in Crushers Cash that can be used at the stadium.
- Sell 400 tickets: Crushers will award one $1,200 scholarship. School's top sellers can play faculty in softball game at All Pro Freight Stadium on a mutually agreed upon date.
How to Sign Up
- All schools who wish to participate in the Scholarship Program must sign up by March 1, 2010.
- Scholarship dates are first come, first serve. Earlier enrollment in the program provides the school the choice of dates and more time to raise money for the scholarship.
