Radio Broadcaster
Andy "Bull" Barch
Bull joined the Crushers prior to the 2011 season. Prior to
saddling up in the catbird’s seat at All Pro Freight Stadium, Barch served
seven seasons in minor league baseball as a radio announcer, and director of
media relations.
He made his professional baseball debut behind the mic in the
summer of 2003, when he served as the radio announcer for the Jamestown
Jammers, a short season affiliate of the Florida Marlins in the New York-Penn
League.
Barch then spent the following six seasons (2004-2009) with the
West Virginia Power, a Class-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates (‘09),
Milwaukee Brewers (‘05-08) and Toronto BlueJays (‘04). During his tenure as the
“voice of the Power”, Andy called over 800 baseball games, including the 2009
South Atlantic League All-Star Game. He called two South Atlantic League
Championship Series in 2007 and 2008. Barch also hosted a daily talk show
titled “Bull on Baseball”. In 2009, Ballpark Digest named him the runner up for
their Broadcaster of the Year Award.
A 2003 graduate of Bowling Green State University, Bull called
several BGSU football, basketball and baseball games in his four years on
campus.
In addition to his duties with the Crushers, Barch also serves as
the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Notre Dame College. He also conducts play by play broadcasts for
NDC basketball and football.
