Division Race Heats Up This Week

AVON, Ohio — The Lake Erie Crushers will host their divisional rivals the Traverse City Beach Bums and the Oakland County Cruisers for three games each beginning Monday, July 19.

The series with Traverse City, who sit three games behind the Crushers in the East Division, kicks off Monday with a 7:05 first pitch. As always, it’s Dollar Dog night presented by WEOL 930 AM, with hot dogs available for $1 at All Pro Freight Stadium’s concessions stands. Monday is also Sheffield Community Night, with residents of Sheffield receiving $1 off tickets with a valid ID. Don’t forget about our senior discount ($6 home box tickets for fans 60-and-over) as well as the game taking Avon by storm, Baseball Bingo.

Tuesday is Lorain Community Night, with residents of Lorain will receive a $1 ticket discount. The 7:05 start is also a $2-for-Tuesday, with selected fare available for just $2, including draft beer, as well as College ID night, with students able to purchase a general admission ticket for $2 with a valid student ID.

Wednesday is a special 11:05 a.m. first pitch for Big Splash Day at the ballpark. Come out early, enjoy the sun and a wild and wet good time!

On Thursday at 7:05 pm. the division-leading Oakland County Cruisers come to Avon for a three-game showdown. It’s Thirsty Thursday presented by Labatt USA with $1 drafts all night. Thursday is also Japanese Night as the Crushers will celebrate Japanese culture with pre-game drum and dance performances from local Japanese groups. Not to be lost in the fold is another week of the Crushers Cornhole Tournament presented by Mike’s Hard Tea.

Be sure to stay late for Friday’s game, scheduled for 7:05, for another spectacular Fireworks Friday, but arrive early for Saturday’s contest, also scheduled for 7:05, as the first 1,000 fans will receive Crushers pennants courtesy of All Pro Freight Systems.

The Lake Erie Crushers, the 2009 Frontier League Champions, play ball at All Pro Freight Stadium located in Avon, OH. Beginning in 2010, All Pro Freight Stadium is also home to the Cleveland State University baseball team.
