AVON, Ohio — The Lake Erie Crushers return to All Pro Freight Stadium August 6-8 for a series against the Oakland County Cruisers. The series kicks off with bonus baseball on Friday, August 5 as the Crushers and Cruisers will resume their game that was suspended after 13 innings at 6:05 p.m. The game was originally started July 24 and was tied 4-4 when play was stopped. Friday’s regularly scheduled game will start at 7:15 p.m. at the earliest and be seven innings in duration. If the suspended game does not conclude prior to 6:45 p.m. Friday’s regularly scheduled game will begin 30 minutes after the suspended game ends. The gates will open at 5:30 p.m. Extra baseball isn’t the only attraction on Friday because Kaplan’s Furniture is sponsoring a spectacular fireworks display after the game. Fans are encouraged to arrive early for Saturday’s game because the first 1,000 to arrive at All Pro Freight Stadium will receive a Crushers flag courtesy of Kaplan’s Furniture. First pitch is set for 7:05 and gates open at 6:05. If the flags aren’t enough, kids will enjoy an appearance from Dorothy the Dinosaur of the Wiggles, who will be roaming the concourse with prizes and for photo opportunities. Sunday’s series finale is a 5:05 first pitch and will bring all sorts of action to All Pro Freight Stadium. It’s Bark in the Park night with fans able to bring their dogs to the ballpark. Fans can purchase tickets for themselves and their dogs for $6 each and sit in the Weed Pro Plaza. All proceeds from tickets for dogs will go towards to the Friends of the APL. Families can also can great value with the Family 4-Pack presented by 95.5 The Fish. It’s four tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas and four bags of Ballreich’s chips for just $44. For fans who enjoy something faster than baseball, ARCA driver Joey Coulter will be stopping by to sign autographs on the concourse. Finally, it’s Amherst/Oberlin Community Day presented by Ohio Business College, so residents of those two communities can receive $1 off tickets with a valid ID. The Lake Erie Crushers, the 2009 Frontier League Champions, play ball at All Pro Freight Stadium located in Avon, OH.
