Avon, Oh - Lake Erie Crushers’ Arden McWilliams is trading in his pinstripes for a dress, and his cleats for ballet slippers. For one night only, McWilliams will play Mother Ginger in the Ohio Dance Theatre’s annual production of the Nutcracker. The outfielder will join the cast of professional and local dancers for their opening night performance on Friday, December 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lorain County Community Center Stocker Arts Center.
Crushers’ Field Manager John Massarelli wishes McWilliams the best, “Arden played a leading role in our run for the Frontier League Championship. Whether playing the outfield or Mother Ginger, he deserves a standing ovation for his performance both on the field and in the community. While we hope he does not ‘break a leg,’ we do hope he hits a home run in his new role."
The Nutcracker opens on Friday, December 18 and runs through Sunday, December 20. Tickets range from $20 to $30 for the general public, $20 to $25 for senior citizens and $16 to $17 for children. For tickets visit www.OhioDanceTheatre.com or call the Stocker box office directly at 440-322-4040.
