Alex Loftin improved his record to 4-1 with the victory. Loftin went 5.2 innings, allowing two earned runs off eight hits. He recorded five strikeouts and relinquished one walk. Brad Duffy and Travis Risser combined for 3.1 innings of shutout baseball in relief of Loftin. Neither Duffy or Risser allowed a hit to the Otters. Out of the six runs scored by the Crushers, four of them came with two outs in the inning. The Crushers struck for two in the first inning with two outs following RBI doubles by Russ Moldenhauer and Andrew Davis. Lake Erie would add one in the second following an RBI single by Adrian Ortiz, and then would follow suit with two in the fifth and one in the sixth. Shortstop Wally Correa led the way for Lake Erie with three base hits and a run scored, while catcher Kyle Shaffer added two hits and a run scored in four at bats. Andrew Davis finished the evening two-for-four with 2 RBIs. With the sweep of the Otters, the Crushers have now won five straight while recording their fourth sweep of the season. The Crushers will travel to Florence, Ky. to begin a three game stint with the Florence Freedom on Sunday July 22. Game time for game one of the series is set to begin at 6:05 pm EDT.
