AVON, Ohio – The Lake Erie Crushers are set to open a three game home stand at All Pro Freight Stadium against the Washington WildThings beginning on Saturday, July 28 for a 7:05 p.m. game time. The Crushers will be bringing the Browns and Steelers rivalry to the Frontier League for Saturday night’s game when gates will open at 6 p.m.. Browns themed jerseys will be worn by the Crushers, while the WildThings will be wearing Steelers themed jerseys. Levin Furniture is sponsoring a t-shirt giveaway that will be available to the first 1,000 fans in attendance. Former Cleveland Brown, Dave Wohlabaugh will be in attendance for the game to throw out the first pitch and to sign autographs on the concourse. Another former Brown, Aaron Shea, will also be in attendance. A Browns vs. Steelers vehicle will be painted with the rivaled colors, and will be made available to whack with a sledge hammer to show dislike for either rivaled team. All Pro Freight Stadium will feature a “Dawg Pound” in section 103, which will have 10 home box tickets available that will include a seat and Perfect Game voucher. A Perfect Game voucher includes a hot dog, soda, and bag of chips. The Crushers are paying homage to the opening of the 2012 Olympics in London, England on Sunday afternoon. The game will begin at 5:05 p.m. with gates opening one hour prior. Included in the Olympic Opening promotion will be featuring demonstrations by Chu To Bu West Judo, Jiu Jitsu and MMA prior to the game. Kids can also try their hand at rowing in an erg race, which will be presented by the Western Reserve Rowing Association to benefit the Row to London campaign. Monday’s game will finish of the three game series with Lorain Community day being the promotion. Several local businesses will be on the concourse to showcase their products, and residents of Lorain can receive one dollar off admission with proper ID. The Lake Erie Crushers, the 2011 Frontier League Organization of the year, play ball at All Pro Freight Stadium, a 5,000 capacity stadium located in Avon, Ohio. The Frontier League is an independent baseball league with 14 teams operating throughout the Midwest and Canada.
