AVON, Ohio – The Lake Erie Crushers (34-28) defeated the Road Warriors (1-1) in walk-off fashion by a score of 5-4 for the first game of the double-header on Thursday night, but dropped the second game by a score of 5-4 at All Pro Freight Stadium in front of 1,228 attendees. Newly signed Josh Hungerman started the first game for the Crushers, and went 2.2 innings with five strikeouts while allowing one earned run. Hungerman was given a no decision in the victory. Travis Risser earned the victory in relief to improve his record to 3-3. Risser went pitched 0.1 innings with no runs allowed. Andrew Davis turned out to be the hero for Lake Erie on offense, as he ripped a two-run double to left center to give them a walk-off victory. Davis finished with one hit, two RBI, and one run scored. Jason Taylor added one base knock and a RBI. J.C. Figueroa and Robby Kuzdale each had RBI in the win as well. Game two was started by Eric Gonzalez-Diaz who struggled by going 2.2 innings and allowed five earned runs on seven hits with three strikeouts. Gonzalez record drops to 5-6 in the loss. Daniel Bowman was the star on offense for the second game of the double-header. Bowman collected three base hits including a homer, two runs scored, and two RBI. Russell Moldenhauer added two base hits and one RBI. Moldenhauer now has 33 RBI on the season. The Crushers will end the three game series against the Warriors on Friday night with a 7:05 p.m. game time. Tickets will be just one dollar again, and will also be Hockey Night at All Pro Freight Stadium. |
