AVON, Ohio – The Lake Erie Crushers (35-38) defeated the Road Warriors (1-2) by a score of 5-4 in walk-off fashion on Friday night at All Pro Freight Stadium in front of 2,705 attendees. Lake Erie received a stellar starting performance by Pat Arnold. Arnold went 5.0 innings with four strikeouts and no runs allowed, but his outing was cut short due to a rain delay. Jonathan Kountis earned the victory for the Crushers after pitching 1.0 innings while allowing zero runs. Kountis’ record now stands at 2-2 after earning the win. The Crushers win was ended on a walk-off sacrifice, which was poorly played by the Warriors defense that allowed two runs to score in the bottom of the ninth inning. J.C. Figueroa and Robby Kuzdale contributed two base hits for Lake Erie. Figueroa also had one run scored in the victory. Adrian Ortiz registered a base hit and one run batted in hitting out of the lead-off spot. Ortiz now has 24 RBI on the season. The Crushers will be back in action for a three game set against the Washington Wild Things, which will begin with Browns vs. Steelers Rivalry Night on Saturday night. The Lake Erie Crushers, the 2011 Frontier League Organization of the year, play ball at All Pro Freight Stadium, a 5,000 capacity stadium located in Avon, OH.
