Crushers Win 2-1 in Walkoff Fashion

AVON, Ohio – The Lake Erie Crushers (36-30) finished the series against the Washington Wild Things (26-38) with a walk-off victory by a score of 2-1 on Monday evening at All Pro Freight Stadium in front of 2,234 attendees.

Josh Hungerman started at pitcher for the second time as a member of the Crushers, and earned a no-decision in the victory. Hungerman went 5.0 innings with eight strikeouts, three walks, and one run allowed.

Jonathan Kountis was the pitcher of record for the Crushers, and pitched 2.0 scoreless innings with three strikeouts. Kountis’ record now stands at 3-2.

The walk-off RBI was credited to Andrew Davis, whom roped a liner into right center good for the Crushers 36th victory. Davis finished the game with one base hit and one RBI.

Jason Taylor also added two base hits, while J.C. Figueroa registered a run scored, hit, and RBI.

The Crushers also recorded a 5-4-3 triple play in the third inning, which was the second in Lake Erie Crushers history.

Lake Erie will welcome the Rockford Riverhawks for a three game set beginning at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday at All Pro Freight Stadium.
