Crushers Walk Off in Twelve

AVON, Ohio – The Lake Erie Crushers (37-30) defeated the Rockford RiverHawks (30-37) by a score of 2-1 in the 12th inning in walk off fashion on Tuesday night at All Pro Freight Stadium in front of 2,204 attendees. This walk off marks the third time this home stand the Crushers have won with a walk off.

Eric Gonzalez-Diaz was the starting pitcher for the Crushers, and tossed 8.0 innings while allowing one hit and one run scored. He was given a no-decision in the victory, and also struck out five RiverHawks.

Jonathan Kountis earned the win for Lake Erie, and improved his record to 4-2. Kountis threw 1.1 innings with one strikeout, while dropping his earned run average 1.39.

The Crushers walk off hit came from Wally Correa in the bottom of the 12th inning, as he came in as a defensive replacement in extra innings.

Andrew Davis collected a pair of base hits in the win, and also scored the winning run.

The Crushers and RiverHawks will be back in action for the second game of the three game series with an 11:05 p.m. game time for Super Splash Day.
