AVON, Ohio – The Lake Erie Crushers (38-30) took the series from the Rockford RiverHawks (30-38) by a score of 5-4 in walk off fashion for the second day in a row on Wednesday afternoon at All Pro Freight Stadium in front of 2,726 attendees. This was the fifth walk off for the Crushers in the past eight games. Pat Arnold was the starting pitcher for Lake Erie, and went 5.1 innings with three strikeouts, four walks allowed, and one earned run allowed. Arnold was given a no-decision in the victory. Travis Risser came in relief to earn the victory for the Crushers, as his record improved to 4-3. Risser threw 1.0 innings with one walk and one earned run allowed. The Crushers piled on four runs in the bottom of the ninth to earn the walk off victory, which was capped off by a Daniel Bowman two RBI single into right field. Bowman finished with two hits and two RBI. Jason Taylor and Russell Moldenhauer each collected one hit, one RBI, and one run scored. Moldenhauer also recorded his sixth homerun of the season in the win. Lake Erie and Rockford will finish off this three game series on Thursday with a 7:05 p.m. start time. Trevor Longfellow is the probable pitcher for tomorrow’s game.
