AVON, Ohio -- The Lake Erie Crushers have teamed up with Mercy hospital and All Pro Freight Systems to host a canned food drive, which will benefit the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

For every five cans donated, you will receive two home box vouchers, good for any Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday game next season.

“In these tough, unforeseen times, we all want to do our small part to help those in need,” said Crushers’ General Managing Partner Steven Edelson. “We encourage the entire community to join us as we make a positive impact on those who need it.”

As of Tuesday afternoon, it was estimated that Hurricane Sandy had caused several billion dollars in damage, left millions without power, affecting nearly one-third of the country.
