Adrian Ortiz is set to begin his first season as a member of the Lake Erie Crushers after spending the majority of the 2011 season with the Wilmington Blue Rocks. Ortiz has spent the past five season in the Kansas City Royals organization with the Idaho Falls Chukars, Burlington Bees, and Blue Rocks.

Last season, Ortiz posted 59 base hits with 32 runs scored. The Largo, Fla. native has a career .277 batting average in the minor leagues with 156 career RBI and 124 career stolen bases. Ortiz is expected to contribute to the lineup and play strong defense in the outfield.
