The Lake Erie Crushers are pleased to announce the return of third baseman, Andrew Davis for the 2010 season.

Davis made the 2010 Frontier League All Star team after posting a .285 BA and 61 RBI's.

In 2009, Davis led the Crushers in hitting with a batting average of .327. He also led the team in runs (74), hits (120), triples (7), and walks (52). He was also among the best hitters in the league; ranking 6th in batting average, 3rd in hits and 2nd in triples. Defensively, he posted a .971 fielding percentage covering the hot corner. Davis’ consistent play throughout the season earned him mid-season and post-season All-Star recognition.

In Game 4 of the Championship Series against the River City Rascals, down two games to one and trailing one to nothing in the fifth inning, Davis’ grand slam proved to be the game winner, thereby saving the series and sending the Crushers back to River City for Game 5. Davis’ heroics and solid play throughout the series earned him the Championship Series MVP.

Davis has an impressive record of championship seasons. In 2006, his team at Kent State University won the Mid-American Conference (MAC) regular season championship and in 2007 went on to claim the MAC tournament title. Drafted in 2007 by the San Francisco Giants, Davis earned rings again in 2007 with the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes (Single A Giants) and 2008 playing for the organization’s farm team in Augusta, GA, the Augusta Greenjackets. Finally, in 2009, he added the latest ring to his collection, leading the Crushers to the Frontier League Championship in their first season of play.
